Inappropriate Artwork

An article in the London Evening Standard was paying tribute to an artist who had passed away the week before. Lucian Freud was a realist painter who also painted portraits. In the picture that went with the article you see a woman holding a painting of a woman that is 8 months pregnant, and completely naked. I understand that this is art, and to some people a naked, pregnant woman is absolutely beautiful. I don’t think it is very appropriate for the newspaper though. I’m sure Freud painted many other paintings of people with clothes on that could have been displayed for this article. It seems to me that they just wanted a reason to put a naked woman in the paper.
